Matt Cutts at WordCamp San Francisco

by Andrew Miller on 06/01/09

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam team, recently presented “SEO for Bloggers” at WordCamp San Francisco. His presentation reminded me of the one I gave at WordCamp Richmond last month ;)

Without giving away all the details, Cutts talks about WordPress’s built-in search friendliness and accessibility:

WordPress takes care of 80-90% of (the mechanics of) Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Beyond basic accessibility, he advises bloggers to be “reputable” and “relevant“. I based my WordCamp SEO presentation on “accessibility“, “credibility“, and “relevance“. It’s good to know Matt and I think alike.

His presentation is shared on Google Docs, mine is here.
