Note from Andrew: Summer Intern Steph is on sabbatical for the next couple of weeks, but she filed this report from her summer business class. I went to summer camp to learn how to tie knots and use sharp objects (with the rope burn and scars to prove it). Is this what kids these days are into? Either way, it sounds interesting and useful for our approach to Integrated SEO.

Greetings from Ithaca! For the past week or so, I have been taking a business class at Cornell University Summer College. The campus is gorgeous (or as they like to say here “gorges” — Ithaca has many gorges and waterfalls) , and I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people. The sleep deprivation is starting to catch up on me, but overall, it’s been a great experience.

The three week business class that I’m taking is an overview of the entire business world. Every day, we focus on a different topic such as finance, ethics, marketing, human resources, and information technology. The class has helped me to see the big picture. Sometimes, when I’m very focused on learning about a certain field (like Search Engine Optimization), it’s easy for me to lose sight of the whole scheme of things. This class at Cornell really put everything into perspective. Now, I can really see how all the different strategies and different parts come together to make a successful business. I think this broader view will allow me to be a more effective member of the Your Search Advisor team, and I can’t wait to get back and start working with clients!
