Raise your hand if you know what the acronym “UX” stands for. Okay, hands down. Now raise your hand if you have ever stumbled across a website or application designed so poorly that it is actually a challenge to use. That should be everybody.

“UX” is short for User Experience and it’s a very important field for all types of wired workers. UX experts are highly trained professionals that make our lives easier and more productive by designing interfaces, information architecture, and experiences that are intuitive and user-friendly.

Dan Cooney is The Brickyard‘s resident UX expert and has done some great work for large (and small) companies all over the country. At its best, his work is evident by its transparency. If he’s done his job well, whatever he helps build “just works”. His consulting firm is called Cooney Information Group and just recently launched his new website, cooneyinformationgroup.com. Check it out, and be sure to listen to what he has to say. He’s a pretty smart guy, and can improve your products and services.
